About me
My strong suits are a solid Software Engineering background and notable leadership traits, with a focus on Agile processes and competence management.
I have 20+ years of experience in ICT as a leader, developer and researcher at reputable companies, driven by a passion for innovative technology, especially smart solutions that improve quality of life.
For years I built Java and C software for mobile and embedded devices. During my Ph.D. (2015–2018), I used Python for data science and machine learning to design and develop an intelligent context-aware recommender system for video content, tested in real-life conditions in 21 homes with the support of the +TV4E project.
Today I am an engineering leader at Bosch Security Systems, leading R&D software teams that build fire alarm and intrusion detection systems to protect people and assets. I work with Product Owners on innovation and roadmap decisions, drive engineering excellence (including the adoption and management of a technical debt strategy), mentor and coach engineers towards the expected quality and performance, and take part in the full product life cycle, from problem analysis and prototyping to design, implementation and measuring adoption.
Over the next few years, I intend to grow as a lecturer, researcher and content-based leader. For that, I have been diving deep into product development, the software life cycle and stakeholder management, among other areas.
